I’m truly honoured to have The
Poetry Field featured by my local newspaper—it’s a wonderful moment in my
writing journey, and I’m so pleased to see poetry getting the recognition it
deserves.
The Poetry Field is my third
book, and it’s the most personal one yet. It weaves together moments of
reflection, memories, landscapes, and stories—some real, some imagined—into
a collection that I hope speaks to the heart. From the mystical landscapes of Iceland
to the calming rhythm of the North Somerset coastline, these poems are
rooted in the people and places that have moved and shaped me.
I’ve always believed poetry is
not just about language; it’s about how we connect—to each other, to our
environment, and to ourselves. Whether it’s a quiet walk by the sea, a memory
stirred by a photograph, or the echo of history in a forgotten street, my goal
has always been to capture those emotions and put them into words.
This book also ties into
something I’m very proud of—the North Somerset Seashore Poetry Trail. I
created this trail as a way for readers and walkers alike to discover poetry
while exploring the very landscapes that inspired the words. It’s a celebration
of nature, community, and creativity, and I encourage everyone to take
part in it—whether you’re local or visiting.
Being Weston-born, I
feel a deep connection to this land, and I hope that shines through in every
line of this book. I want readers to see the beauty in small things, to
reflect, to remember, and to enjoy the gentle rhythm that poetry can bring to
everyday life.
Thank you to everyone who’s
supported me, read my poems, or simply taken a moment to reflect on a verse. I
warmly invite you to step into The Poetry Field—a space where words,
memories, and landscapes come alive.
The book is now available
online and in select local shops—come and explore the journey.
